Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Networking, Wireless, & Security Solutions Architect Lead to be based out of the Washington, DC, Baltimore, Northern Virginia (VA) Metro area.  Much of the time for this position is spent meeting with customers at their locations, so the successful candidate will not need to report to the office daily; however, there is also an element of local travel via automobile to reach regional-client locations as warranted by the various aspects of the job role.

As a Solutions Architect (SA) Lead and a member of the Pre-Sales Engineering Team, the candidate will be responsible for meeting with Presidio’s Commercial, Enterprise, and Federal customers, collecting requirements for infrastructure solutions relating to networking and unified communications projects and developing engineering solutions for sale to Presidio customers. In addition, a SA is expected to be a thought leader, work as part of a team, and continually strive to grow themselves and the company. As a Lead, the position will have other resources reporting to the candidate.

The SA Lead works with the Presidio sales and delivery organizations, customers, and manufacturing partners for the purpose of transforming the customer experience through alignment of business goals and objectives to Presidio consulting services and solution architectures. The SA Lead is responsible for partnering with their regional Director(s) of Sales and Director(s) of Professional Services to exceed annual goals for revenue, growth and profitability.  The SA Lead will continue to function as a Solution Architect for assigned key clients in addition to his/her managerial responsibilities.  The SA Lead is also responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining top Solution Architect talent on their team. This is a critical role as Presidio continues to grow a strong solution-oriented sales and professional services business.

A successful Solutions Architect should be able to present and explain various network communication and infrastructure technologies to customers, guide them through requirements gathering, and formulate a solution consisting of hardware, software, licensing, and engineering services. SAs are responsible for creating scope of work and task lists for various types of projects in support of these solutions. Specific tasks include creation of Bill of Materials for Cisco Hardware/Software solutions, Creation of Consulting Engagements, including pricing of engineering services and creation of Statement of Work.  The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Cisco networking, wireless, and security solutions, Palo Alto security solutions, and VMware networking, mobility, and security solutions.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a high level of design experience, implementation experience with the various Cisco, and/or Palo Alto products and technologies is a plus,  be highly motivated, excited about learning new products and technologies, and able to effectively communicate ensuring superior customer service and maintaining a strong customer relationship.

The essential responsibilities of the Presidio Solutions Architect are to work directly with customers and account managers in pre-sales situations, and to work effectively across functions with other Presidio employees in Sales, Marketing, Proposals, and Project Management areas.

Lead Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Sales and Architecture Leadership.  Lead and develop a team focused on solution sales, consulting and professional delivery services in our customer engagements. Be an example of how to own the customer and team experience
  • Work with Technical and Sales Leadership to define the needs of the practice areas, and be a primary channel of communications to/from the region(s).  Team with the Professional Services leadership to ensure quality of SOW, and that lines of communication are consistently and constantly open.
  • Business Acumen.  Understand customer’s overall business drivers and influences, and how to position Presidio to ensure a successful sales and implementation of our service and product portfolio. Be aware and in tune with industry, technology, and customer trends.
  • Work with Director(s) of Sales to develop and execute strategy and go-to-market plans.  Define and maintain a skills matrix of SA team to ensure proper coverage in strategic solutions and partners.
  • Coordinate with Marketing team to develop relevant and impactful customer events.
  • Provide guidance and development of Solutions Architecture team to allow team members to achieve success in their individual roles.  Assist with managing workload, setting proper expectations and acting as escalation point for the SA team.
  • Partner Relationships.  Build credibility and strengthen relationships with manufacturer partner teams

Solution Architecture Responsibilities:

  • Meet with Customers and Collect Customer Requirements
  • Work with Account Manager/Sales Team to develop customer relationship and solutions and assist in overall sales process
  • Create high-level solution designs/architecture and present to customers
  • Create Customer facing Presentations
  • Create Bill of Materials & configurations for solutions
  • Build Scope of Services and Professional Service Pricing
  • Write Statement of Works

Required Skills:

Must have demonstrable design experience with experience in deployment, administration, configuration, or integration, being an advantage. Experience working as a consultant and with Cisco partners is desirable. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of Cisco technologies and products.

  • Cisco ISE, ASA, Sourcefire security solutions
  • Meraki Wireless, Security, and Networking Cloud products
  • Palo Alto Security Products and Solutions
  • VMware Networking, Mobility, and Security Solutions
  • Cisco Optical equipment a plus
  • F5 solutions is a plus
  • Riverbed solutions is a plus
  • A desire to continuously learn new technologies and products

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in Networking, Security, and Cisco Products
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Pre-sales experience preferred
  • Relevant Cisco or industry Certifications
    • CCDA/CCNA or CCNP/CCDP required
    • CCIE/CCDE desirable
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent is preferred
  • Secret or Top Secret Clearance preferred but not required
