Job Responsibilities:

  • Multi-faceted high-end networking individual that will be servicing our customers on a daily basis.
  • The candidate must be able to work alone or in a team environment.
  • This individual may be managing small to large *projects* on their own. This can includedesign to troubleshooting.
  • Project engineering for New York TriState area is primarily Cisco-focused.
  • Engineer will be responsible for projects/moves, adds, changes, and repair at multiple customer sites across the New York Tri-State area.
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skillsand be flexible with hours. Must have your own vehicle.
  • Training is available in advanced technologies.
  • Full benefits available, plus additional compensation for evenings and weekends.
Required Skills:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Math, or Science concentration is required.
  • A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Math, Science, or other technical field of study is preferred.
  • Active Industry certifications, such as Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE (preferred), Palo Alto PCNSE, F5 CTS, and/or Citrix CCA-N, are also required.
  • At least 5 years of related experience providing project deliverables in a VAR/Integrator environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Solid documentation experience with Microsoft® Office product suite.
  • Ambitious and goal-oriented, with initiative to work until job is complete. 

Required Capabilities/Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Core Routing and Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting using Cisco

Best Practices:

  • IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS \u0001 Routing Protocols—OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, L2 / L3 Architecture and Design Multicast, QoS

Potential candidates must possess experience and demonstrate expertise in at least one or more of the following areas:

  • Data Center / Core design, configuration, and implementation utilizing Cisco Nexus Architecture (9K, 7K, 6K, 5K, 3K, 2K,1000V).

Familiar with the following technologies:

  • OTV – LISP – NSX – Programmability
  • Design, Configuration, and Tuning of Industry leading network security products.
  • Excellent understanding of VPN architectures —Site to Site, SDWAN , Remote Access Client (IPSEC/SSL), DMVPN
  • ASA Firewalls
  • HA Configurations o Multi-Context o Transparent Mode o NAT
  • ACL Configuration o IPSec and SSL VPN o IPS Configuration o CX
  • BotNet o Next-Gen Features o DMZ


  • FirePower o AMP o FireSight
  • NG-IPS o NG-FW o Application Control
  • Cisco ISE design, configuration, and integration with wired data and wireless infrastructure for network
  • Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting
  • Palo Alto Firewall (Basic and Next-Gen Features), Panorama, and EndPoint Experience
  • Cisco Ironport ESA/WSA
  • Genetech and/or Cisco Physical Security
  • Cisco Wireless design, configuration, and troubleshooting for Enterprise and campus environments.
  • Wireless Surveys, Site Assessments, and Audits using AirMagnet and/or Ekahau Toolsets
  • WLAN Controller Configurations and Tuning
  • PRIME, MSE, ISE Integration
  • Bridging, Outdoor/Mesh, Location Tracking, wIPS, Guest Access
  • Meraki (Wireless, Security Products, Switches, SDWAN)

Load Balancing design, configuration, and troubleshooting using the following products:

  • F5 (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM, AFM)
  • Citrix NetScaler

Familiarity with additional core technologies including:

  • Riverbed, Infoblox, Cisco Optical, NetBrain, FireEye, SolarWinds, SPLUNK
