Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Security Networking Engineer in our Gulf region. Much of the time for this position is spent delivering solutions to customers at their locations, so an element of local travel via automobile to reach regional-client locations is warranted by the various aspects of the job role.   This candidate could live in the Birmingham, AL; Jackson, MS, Baton Rouge or Metairie, LA area. (Opportunity to work remote when not traveling to client locations)
As a Networking Engineer and a member of the Delivery Engineering Team, the candidate will be responsible for delivering solutions to Presidio’s Commercial, SLED, and Enterprise customers.
A successful Delivery Engineer should be able to present and explain sold security solutions to customers, guide them through requirements gathering for deployment, and formulate a project plan consisting of hardware, software, licensing, and project timelines. Delivery Engineers are responsible for creating Systems Engineering Reports and As-Built documents for various types of projects in support of these solutions.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a high level of design experience, be highly motivated, excited about learning new products and technologies, able to effectively communicate to ensuring superior customer service and maintaining a strong customer relationships. Implementation experience with the various products and technologies is required.  The optimal candidate will be a senior-level security engineer with strong routing/switching skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consulting services, including: assessment and design of security and network systems to our customers
  • Work with the other team members to successfully deliver secure network solutions
  • Act as a lead engineer to deploy complex security solutions to variety of customer sizes and types.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peers at vendor partners
  • Remain current on the latest technologies that align to our business initiatives
Other duties include but are not limited to: participating in network, security hardware engineering and trouble shooting efforts, technical writing, participating in briefings with clients, as well as, mentoring peer engineers, and special projects as assigned.  
Required Skills
  • 5+ years of experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in Security, Networking, or other advanced technology products.
  • Certifications
    • CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, or CCSP – Strongly preferred
    • CISSP – Preferred
    • CCIE Security or R&S – Preferred
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience and/or military experience is required.
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience with design and implementation of the following:
    • Firewalls/VPNs (Cisco is a must, Palo Alto/Juniper/Check Point/Fortinet are a plus)
    • Network Access Control, including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
    • IDS/IPS solutions (Sourcefire / Palo Alto a plus)
    • Malware Prevention (FireEye/Sourcefire/Palo Alto)
    • Authentication solutions including Cisco ACS and RSA
    • Mobile Device Management
    • SIEM (Security Event and Information Management) systems
  • Candidate must have an intermediate to advanced understanding of:
    • Host/network common vulnerabilities and exploits (CVEs, IAVAs, etc.), hacker methodologies and tactics, and the tools used.
    • Common OS and domain structures (Red Hat Linux, Oracle/Sun, Windows, Active Directory, etc.), servers, services, and associated vulnerabilities.
    • Network engineering and local and wide area (LAN/WAN) technologies and topologies.
    • Routing protocols, switching, wireless technology etc.
  • Candidate should have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Candidate should be a team player with demonstrated ability to work without guidance.
