We are currently seeking an authentic and results oriented passionate leader who will join our team to help drive relevance, impact, and loyalty in our customer base. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sales and architecture leadership, business acumen, technical excellence, and outstanding customer service.
The Presidio Practice Director is a customer facing technical leadership position. The Practice Director works with the Presidio sales and delivery organizations, customers, and manufacturing partners for the purpose of transforming the customer experience through alignment of business goals and objectives to Presidio consulting services and solution architectures. The Practice Director is responsible for delivering technology updates and direction to the engineering and sales teams. This is a critical role as Presidio continues to grow a strong solution-oriented professional services business. The Practice Director reports directly to the Vice President Professional Services, North Central Area.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Excellence.  Maintain a high level of technical excellence and evangelism across multiple solution architecture areas, including both the primary and enabling solutions sold and delivered by Presidio.
  • Executive Relationships. Work with Executive Leadership to define the needs of the practice and be a primary channel of communications to/from the territories.  Team with the Professional Services leadership to ensure quality of SPW/SOW content, and that lines of communication are consistently and constantly open. Assist Territory Vice Presidents with market strategy based on deep knowledge of the practice.
  • Business Acumen. Understand our customer’s overall business drivers and influences, and how to position Presidio to ensure a successful sales and implementation of our service and product portfolio. Be aware and in tune with industry, technology, and customer trends.
  • Client Relationships. Build and maintain long-term loyal client relationships, as well as establish and attack/convert competitively held accounts.
  • Partner Relationships. Build credibility and strengthen relationships with manufacturer partner teams. Be the thought leader and key technical contact for Presidio North Central with appropriate Vendors.
  • Standards. Responsible for setting the standards for service delivery pertaining to the Practice, including the development of standard deliverable documentation templates.
  • Territory Collaboration. Collaborate with Territory Practice Managers to ensure that Presidio North Central is designing and delivering solutions utilizing best practices across all Territories and sharing lessons learned with all territories.
  • Technology Updates. Responsible for documenting and communicating changes to delivery best practice, product upgrades/development to delivery team, Sales, and Management.
  • RAP. Responsible for internal RAP review of complex opportunities
  • Pre-Sales. Provides pre-sales support in a technical architect role. Responsibilities include technical deep dive discussions with potential customers related to Practice solutions, and product demonstrations.
  • Projects. Fills the role of Consulting Engineer for large scale projects as needed for design, implementation and support. Provide oversight and guidance to engineering team
  • Engineer Support. Provides support and technical leadership related to Practice solutions to engineers across all North Central locations.
  • Vendor Evaluations. Review existing vendors and evaluate new vendor solutions that address business issues.
  • SOW Content. Proficient in understanding and developing content for scope of works, hour / cost estimates and client deliverables. Practice Directors work with local SA’s to provide content.
  • Technology Direction. Ability to provide management and account team oral and written reports on client needs, problems, interests, market situations, competitive activities, and potential for new products/services.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (Information Technology or Computer Science preferred) or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • 5+ years combined experience in engineering and leadership
  • 2+ years with Presidio preferred
  • Cisco / EMC / VMware / NetApp / F5 / Palo Alto / Pure / Nimble The Practice Director will be an authentic and transparent leader who builds a culture of success through customer relevance and impact.
  • Experience and Professional Certification(s) in one or more of Presidio’s portfolio of top manufacturing partners in the Practice
  • Intimate knowledge of system and solution architectures
  • The Practice Director will remain technically excellent while guiding the engineering team to excellence.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Excellent leadership skills, ability to lead by example
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, in written and oral form, to a variety of audiences
  • Proven Technical problem-solving and design ability
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and grow team(s)
