This individual could be based in either Columbus or Cincinnatti, OH and involves travel to regional client locations.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates existing data center environments, designs solutions that address business issues, and implements efficient and cost saving solutions for customers
  • Understand client's infrastructures, their needs and provide expertise and consulting on Cisco solutions.
  • Provide design, implementation and support of Cisco Data Center technology (Nexus, UCS, WAAS, MDS, 6500 VSS, etc.)
  • Provide integration of VMware and/or Storage (EMC or NetApp) with Cisco DC technology (a plus)
  • Develop and deliver professional proposals, including design documentation
  • Ability to provide management and account team oral and written reports on the client needs, problems, interests, market situations, competitive activities, and potential for new products/services
  • Creates and manages the project for key technical deliverables including, but not limited to, capacity planning, implementation, configuration, usage reporting, and allocation to host
  • Provides guidance regarding architecture and application processes to the engineering team and the project as a whole
  • Provides pre-sales engineering support to sales team to ensure that all needs of any sales opportunities are fulfilled
  • Coordinates conference calls for technical issues to provide status of open opportunities and resource requirements to management
  • Serves as a liaison between company and the customer regarding the implementation and maintenance of Systems
  • Analyze log files, performance issues, and the production environment for mission critical systems
  • Provides Level 3 support for all installed platforms and provides operational health of the Open Systems infrastructure and the applications used to control it
  • Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • 3+ years of related experience in Data Center systems design, development, verification, and implementation
  • Excellent communication (Oral/Written)  / interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience in Cisco solutions (CCNP or higher certification, or CCIE certification preferred)
  • Strong skills in Cisco Data Center (Nexus, UCS, WAAS, MDS, etc.)
  • VMware and/or Storage experience (EMC or NetApp) a plus
  • Knowledge of blade server and storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DASD, ATL, VTL, ILM)
  • Thorough knowledge of Cisco products and understanding of infrastructure and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills including client-facing consulting skills
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Experience designing network solutions given client requirements and goals
  • Ability to manage and coordinate projects
  • Self-motivated and desire to succeed
  • Works safely and responsibly to avoid injury/property damage, while maintaining a clean work area
Physical Demand & Working Environment
While performing the duties of this position, individuals may be required to stand for extended periods of time using handheld equipment and power tools. This position also requires the ability to spend time walking, standing, and touring medical and other facilities. May lift and carry up to 50lbs. May encounter frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
