Key Responsibilities
  • Must be available to be on-site for up 80% of the time. This requirement may change as the needs of the business evolve.
  • Serve as the primary senior system analysts for all on-site industrial ITS infrastructure including server, storage, backup, wide area network, local area network, industrial WiFi, firewalls, intrusion protection, virtual servers, virtual networks, industrial handhelds (barcode and RFID devices), industrial printers (barcode, label), and HMI terminals. Interface with global infrastructure teams to understand global infrastructure standards. Interface with local business teams to understand Swiftwater needs. Represent Swiftwater industrial needs to corporate infrastructure standards bodies to influence technology roadmap.
  • Lead, plan, estimate, propose and execute projects. Provide analyst and design support for ITS infrastructure for all business projects requiring onsite network, server, and storage infrastructure. Present all designs to global governance teams.
  • Support 1-3 projects weekly.
  • Coordinate all ITS infrastructure lifecycle projects to include server/storage/network hardware lifecycle as well as operating system and software lifecycle. Coordinate automation infrastructure lifecycle projects during manufacturing shutdown windows. Support development of the shop floor automation lifecycle planning.
  • Support 1-3 lifecycle projects weekly
  • Lead tactical site security projects to implement new security controls as mandated by corporate security guidelines. Perform system analysis of existing automation and manufacturing systems to develop requirements. Coordinate design, development, solution delivery, qualification, and validation of new security systems. Lead cross functional / cross discipline teams that include representation from site quality and automation.
  • Lead 1-2 critical security projects weekly.
  • Provide field troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor of network, server, industrial handhelds, and HMI terminals for automation and shop floor systems.
  • Provide ongoing Infrastructure maintenance, administration,and security updates including GMP change and system management.
  • Support 1-3 changes per month
  • Develop, update and maintain procedures and system documentation. Must maintain detailed inventory and architecture information for all industrial systems and be able to present information for regulatory audits.
  • Update 1-2 documents per month
  • Perform security audits on industrial applications, industrial firewalls, laboratory client workstations, and shop floor client workstations and remediate deviations.
  • Perform system administration audits of monitoring, user account administration, system backups, and data archiving to ensure that global system administration organization is meeting SLAs.
  • Provide system analysis for the configuration, upgrade, networking, and troubleshooting of industrial end-user devices (handhelds, scanners, HMIs, tablets).
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • 2 years previous work experience with a pharmaceutical manufacturing company
  • 5 plus years Cisco infrastructure experience
  • Extremely knowledgeable of Cisco networks as well as their installation and maintenance
  • In-depth understanding of multiple operating systems
  • Proficient in computer hardware and software
  • Problem solving skills needed to troubleshoot and repair network issues
  • Capable of training employees on the use of the network
  • Efficient in time management and able to multitask
  • Experienced in setting up a secure network to maintain confidentiality security precautions
  • Experienced in server setup support in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Experienced in Industrial Environments
