Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Leasing, the Accounting Manager will manage and direct all financial and lease accounting-related functions including engagement with management and other key stakeholders. A successful candidate will be responsible for month-end close, lease review and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial statement preparation.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Direct Month-End Close and meet established deadlines to produce high quality financial reporting used in the parent company’s public filings.
  • Prepare Month, Quarter and Yearly financial reporting.
  • Review and Approve Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations including Leasing Gross Investment.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Treasury functions, including managing the Paying Agent Lockbox and funding source distributions.
  • Manage external financial audits as well as funding bank audits including completion of audit requests and supporting schedules.
  • Primarily responsible for all internal controls to ensure sustained SOX compliance.
  • Review Lease Billings for accuracy and compliance with established Accounting policies.
  • Review Revenue Eliminations and Accruals including inter-company transactions.
  • Prepare Quarterly Residual Reserve Memo and supporting analysis.
  • Prepare and provide analysis of monthly P&L variance and pipeline reporting
  • Prepare yearly operating budgets with input from leasing stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly P&L forecasts as well as quarterly cash flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate training to ensure policies and processes are being followed consistently.
  • Drive innovation by continually assessing work flow processes, implementing improvements that effectuate positive change.
  • Monitor performance, provide feedback and suggest development opportunities for employees.
  • Empower staff to develop creative solutions and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Accounting team to implement new lease accounting standard (ASC 842) as of June 30, 2019

Required Skills: 

  • CPA or equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Strong Lease Accounting background including Syndication and Discounting.
  • Strong Knowledge of GAAP and Internal Controls. 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of management level experience
    • experience with at least 3-7 employees reporting to them
  • Advanced knowledge of the entire Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management to maximize performance.
  • Demonstrated strength in analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex business concepts
  • Results oriented, with a high bias for action and a strong ownership of accountability.
  • Ability to act and operate independently to meet objectives and assigned deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains preferred, but not required.
