Daily responsibilities will include the following:

  • Performing as the Lead Engineer for customer projects including design, implementation, testing, and support for new deployments, expansions, environment refresh and upgrades. This includes troubleshooting for all customer environments.
  • Create technical deliverables including wireless network assessments, capacity planning, detailed design documents, implementation plans, configurations, and change orders.
  • Lead technical discussions to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Perform active, passive, and predictive wireless surveys.
  • Configure Cisco wireless network devices.
  • Provide peer reviews of implementations, configurations, and documentation for team members.
  • Assist and mentor other team members with deployment or best practices.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast on new and emerging technologies.
  • Obtain vendor-related certifications, to enhance professional development and our corporate standing with our vendors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peers at vendor partners.

Job Requirements:

  • We seek a Bachelor's Degree of Arts or Sciences (Electrical Engineering or Computer Science), or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience demonstrating a significant level of expertise in Networking and Cisco Products.
  • You will have the ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills.
  • We seek strong communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to details, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision making skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minor supervision.
  • You possess strong documentation experience with Visio, Word, Excel
  • You are ambitious and goal oriented, with initiative to work until job is complete.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Wireless design, configuration, and troubleshooting, and usage of Cisco recommended practices a must.
  • Experience with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
  • Knowledge of RF including use of directional and Omni-directional antennas, signal propagation, dB loss, SNR, MIMO
  • Ekahau or other survey tools and spectrum analyzer
  • Experience with indoor and outdoor surveys, Cisco Aironet and Meraki Access Points
  • Cisco Wireless LAN Controller
  • High Availability, Failover, Mobility Groups
  • WLAN configuration encryption and authentication
  • Access Point RF Controls, Roaming
  • AP installation including mounting, antenna mounting, enclosures
  • Wireless Mesh and point to point Bridge Links
  • Power over Ethernet, Multigigabit Ethernet
  • Knowledge and experience of Routing and Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting a must. Network Design and Configuration elements include:  Spanning-tree, VTP, Port Channels, Load balancing, SPAN, Routing protocols such as OSPF and EIGRP, Cisco ISR, Catalyst and Nexus
  • Other areas of knowledge and experience are as important. Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus:
  • Mobile Device Management
  • Familiar with Cisco MSE/CMX, Cisco ISE 
  • Relevant Cisco or industry Certifications is a plus (CCNA or CCNP).
